CLUB RULES
1) Members shall be entitled to participate in competitions and events organised by the club. Failure to produce the membership card if requested by a competition steward may result in disqualification.
2) The club does not and will not hold itself in anyway responsible for accidents, personal injury (whether fatal or otherwise) loss of property, income or consequential loss to members or their invited guests whilst engaged in club activities.
3) The winner of a challenge trophy will give a satisfactory guarantee to the committee as to its safe custody & return.
4) Competitors who tie for any trophy will hold it for an equal period, and duplicate replicas or medals will be awarded.
5) The decision of the committee on the award or otherwise of prizes and trophies will be final.
6) When pleasure fishing, more than one rod may be used and the catch still qualify for club honours, however in order to comply with N.F.S.A requirements for medal awards the maximum of two rods and three hooks in total rule applies.
7) The committee reserve the right to amend, add to or cancel any rules, match dates, times, social dates, sizes, specimen weights etc. as circumstances arise.
8) All fish entered for specimen honours I.e. N.F.S.A. medals & or club trophies or records, must be weighed on certified scales.
9) Crustaceans, Squid, Octopus, Cuttlefish, Salmon, Sea Trout & protected species I.e. Shad are ineligible.
10) Club waters are defined as
A) shore:- The whole of NFSA area D which is the River Exe to the Hants/Dorset border.
B) Boat matches:-up to 14 nautical miles east or west of West Bay harbour, with a maximum distance from shore of 5 nautical miles.
C) Boat club record claims:- the fish must be caught between a line from Beer Head as western boundary and line from Portland Bill as the eastern boundary with no outward distance limit between the boundary lines. Boats fishing with in club water limits may present catch for for club records regardless of point of departure or return.
11) Invited guests are permitted to take part in up to two shore matches per annum (with the exception of the Christmas Fayre match which is restricted to members only).
12) Junior member for the current year is defined as being under the age of 16 years old on the 1st of January.
13) All challenge trophies are to be returned to the cup custodian at least 28 days prior to the annual dinner/dance presentation evening.
14) Members who suffer from a disability may receive such minimum assistance as requested to cast, play or land a fish. Use of electrically assisted reels by disabled members is permitted.
15) For club honours only, Sharks and Tope may be weighed and witnessed on board. Measurements of length and girth to be taken and a photograph for proof. The fish may then be released.
16) Any member wishing to fish club competitions from charter boats must make their own arrangements with the skippers concerned.
