CHESIL CHAMPS OPEN 2010 |
This years Chesil
Champs had to be brought forward due to the venue being unavailable on the
original date chosen for the match. Seventy Seven competitors signed on to fish
the match, this included three juniors and two ladies. The boundaries for the
competition were from the Jurassic pier at West Bay to the flagpole at West
Bexington. Once signed on the competitors set off to their chosen fishing spot,
about half the entrants chose to fish Cogden, with some fishing West Bexington
and Freshwater, and some chose to fish east pier at West Bay. All of the
entrants hoped to catch a dogfish as the water was coloured after the bad
weather on Friday and Saturday, but only one was caught but this was not enough
to win the match. as the anglers returned for the weigh in news was coming in
that someone a caught a ray which could give the captor the title of
Chesil Champ Winner 2010. At last the angler who had caught the ray came to the
scales and the fish weighed 2 kg 450 g, and yes it won him the match with the
second placed competitor 1 kg 195 g behind him. The top fifteen anglers won a
