West Bay sea angling club was founded in 1951, and since then has gone from strength to strength.  We are lucky to fish many of our matches on the famous Chesil beach which runs from West Bay to Portland. Chesil beach is also part of the Jurassic coast, which is a world heritage site. If you do come to fish West Bay or Chesil beach please remember to take any litter home or put it in the bins provided. Please be aware that only float fishing or hand lines is the only form of fishing allowed on the end of east pier.

The New West Pier was opened on 17th December 2004. You are allowed to float fish or hand line on the inside of the new pier which has been named the Jurassic Pier. There is no overhead casting allowed on the piers.
